Disguises

At times I feel our love is real.
At times I feel we're pretending.
Sometimes I think our anger is real.
Other times, I'm sure we're pretending.

Pure love and purifying anger fill
To overflow our hearts.
Battling for the deepest course,
They surge and wind through
Moonlit shadows,
Obscuring their full integrity.

Not knowing which runs deeper
Or to which riverbed,
The truest feelings we feel
Become disguises we wear.
